Magnehelic gauge (low differential pressure gauge)
A low differential pressure gauge, often called a Magnehelic-type gauge, reads very small air pressure differences in pascals. Pioneer supplies it in ranges from 0–60 Pa to 0–8 kPa, including 60–0–60 Pa, on a 100 mm dial with ±3% of full-scale accuracy, for clean rooms, AHU filters, ducts and fume hoods.
- Range
- 0–60 Pa to 0–8 kPa

How it works and when to use it
Clean-room pressure cascades and filter monitoring work in tens or hundreds of pascals, far below anything a Bourdon gauge can see. This gauge uses a diaphragm and a magnetic linkage, so it reads air and non-combustible gas differentials without liquid and without a pointer stem passing through a seal.
Mount it with the diaphragm vertical, connect the high-pressure tap to the dirty or higher side, and set zero with the front screw before commissioning.
Versions
- 0–250 Pa and 0–500 Pa. AHU pre-filters and fine filters, the most ordered ranges.
- 0–60 Pa and 60–0–60 Pa. Clean-room and isolation-room pressure cascades.
- 0–1 kPa to 0–8 kPa. HEPA banks, duct static and fan pressure.
Typical applications
- Pharma and electronics clean rooms
- AHU and FFU filter monitoring
- Hospital isolation rooms and OTs
- Duct static and fan pressure
- Fume hoods and dust collectors

Paste into your technical specification or BOQ and adjust ranges and quantities.
- Low differential pressure gauges shall be diaphragm type with magnetic linkage, 100 mm dial, ±3% FS accuracy, front zero adjustment.
- Range to suit the duty (e.g. 0–250 Pa for pre-filters, 0–500 Pa for fine filters, 0–60 Pa for room cascades).
- Supplied with mounting accessories and tubing adapters; in SS box where scheduled. Make: Pioneer Industrial Instruments, Pune, or approved equivalent.
Questions buyers ask
Is this the same as a Magnehelic gauge?
It is the same type of instrument. Magnehelic is a trademark of Dwyer Instruments; Pioneer supplies its own low differential pressure gauges of this type.
Which range for an AHU filter?
0–250 Pa for pre-filters and 0–500 Pa for fine filters cover most AHUs. HEPA banks often need 0–1 kPa.
Can it be used on water?
No. It is for air and non-combustible, dry, clean gases only. For liquids use a differential pressure gauge.
What is a Magnehelic gauge used for?
Reading very small air pressure differences in pascals: clean-room pressure cascades, AHU and HEPA filter pressure drop, duct static pressure, fume hoods and dust collectors.
Do you supply a digital Magnehelic gauge?
Yes, Pioneer also supplies a digital differential pressure indicator reading in pascals; see the differential pressure gauge page.
